Our Story Begins Here

The Springfield-Clark Community Initiative (SCCI) is a collaborative outreach of the congregations of the Till Plains Seventh-day Adventist Fellowship. Rooted in our faith and united by compassion, we are committed to our mission of neighbors helping neighbors throughout Springfield and Clark County.

Our work began with Operation Hunger, a long-standing monthly ministry based at the Springfield-First Seventh-day Adventist Church, which has faithfully provided groceries and support to those facing food insecurity. More recently, our outreach was expanded by merging with the Springfield Initiative’s Open Hands Free Pantry, further extending our ability to serve individuals and families in need throughout the week.

Together, these programs form the foundation of SCCI’s ministry — offering groceries, warm meals, and a welcoming environment where all are treated with dignity and love.

At SCCI, we believe community transformation begins with simple acts of kindness. Whether you're seeking support, looking to volunteer, or hoping to make a difference, we invite you to join us in our mission: neighbors helping neighbors.
